The order of discourse: on summaries and marginal annotations of Goulart’s “contrefaçons” of the OEuvres morales et meslées
Resumo
The «contrefaçons» Goulart of the Oeuvres morales et meslées, according to the term of R. Aulotte – the first one dating of 1581 – constitute the first reception of the “Plutarque françois” in the editorial order, and their popularity was high until at least 1640. The “indices», “summaries” and other “annotations”, serve an educational purpose; but they also promote a certain reading of Amyot’s Plutarch in the late sixteenth century and until the classical age at least. Focusing on the last two elements, we would like to go over some philosophical, generic and logic aspects specific to this work of “popularization”.
