Topicality and fantasy in Plautus’ Greek geography
Resumo
On the basis of several examples taken from the Miles, the Persa and the
Trinummus, we tray to prove that Plautus has inserted in his comedies Greek place
names that were not in their originals, sometimes selected because of the historical
topicality and sometimes product of his rich creative fantasy.
