Assuming that the Earth is an open system and subsystem features such as Atmosphere,
Geosphere, Hydrosphere and Biosphere, this article aims to present the integrated
biological and geological knowledge, constituting the foundation for environmental
awareness and consequently a sustainable development. Nevertheless, this research is
descriptive, qualitative approach and presenting a case study, focusing on mining as its
main subject, characterizing important aspects of the teaching-learning in geosciences,
social and environmental aspects relevant professional experience of the authors. The
production of marble has increased significantly in Brazil and consequently its extraction
generates a large quantity of effluent, arranged in an ecologically incorrect can be harmful
to human health. The Massif Carbonatic of the Holy Spirit is the largest in scope and
representation of this rocky body in Brazil. Aiming to avoid wastage of solid waste, the
release of the abrasive slurry on the environment and consequently many negative
environmental impacts of the framework, it is necessary to re-use and this study aims to
present different aspects of reuse of these wastes, which sometimes, when unduly exposed to
the environment can aggrade rivers, polluting their water, causing environmental impacts
as the involvement of plant and animal survival in this ecosystem. According to
environmental legislation, the waste generator is responsible for the entire life cycle of this
material: from its generation to final disposal. Thus, the reuse of this waste is of great
importance for the preservation of the environment and for businesses and entrepreneurs.
However, this article aims to present different methodologies, namely: economic partners,
environmental biogeochemistry, where the residues of the industry of ornamental stones
and grinding rocks are a potential source of raw material to be applied in the production of
artifacts for the purpose of green bricks in industry and agriculture.
Maciço Carbonático do Espírito Santo é o maior em extensão e representação deste corpo
rochoso no Brasil.
Dessa forma, a
