Between κρίμα and ἁμαρτία in relation to the concept of δίκη: ethimological considerations
Resumo
This article presents a brief survey regarding the concept of crime from an etymological basis. It presents a diachronic transformation of the lexeme κρίμα, both formally and semantically. Since the current sense in classical antiquity, to the Judeo‑Christian paradigm, ‘crime’ is assumed with a sense closer to the classical ἁμαρτία and ‘Sin’, in the new creed. Constituting a disturbance of natural order, each crime needs correcting and the limits of the reparation determine its consideration as Justice or revenge.
