Plutarch and Musonius Rufus: a figure of female wisdom at the ὅτι καὶ γυναῖκα παιδευτέον (frr. 128-133 Sandbach)?
Resumo
Starting from the affinities in the thought of Plutarch and Musonius Rufus
concerning the need for female education, the work analyzes Plutarch’s fragments
128-133 Sandbach trying to show some contents and formal features of the ὅτι καὶ
γυναῖκα παιδευτέον. This Plutarchan treatise has partially survived only thanks to the
work of Johannes Stobaeus and has been a subject of controversy between the scholars.
